1) I have always held The Duke near and dear to my heart as my Dad's father, my Pop Pop, looked just like him... save that whole watch me take out my teeth trick.
2) An image of John Wayne was my first successful screen print in both class and on my own in the studio. In the studio after one whole year of unsuccessfully printing, burning and emulsion experiments I finally had a clear burn on a screen of John Wayne. I printed the first image on one of my printing tables to remind myself of family, beginnings and hard work. It's all about tiny steps, right?
